History

According to the Hajj Ministry, Jeddah was founded as a small fishing village about 2,500 years ago. The port city was of great importance not only for trade and commodity exchange, but also because during the Caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan, it served as a port for pilgrims heading to Mecca to take the Hajj. #HistoriaDżudda #MiastoPortowe #Hajj

The city was strengthened in the 16th century by the Turks. A stone wall was built to defend Jeddah from Portuguese attacks. Since Jeddah remained under Ottoman rule until 1915, there is a clear Turkish influence in the city's architecture. #PanowanieOsmańskie #ArchitekturaTurecka

The new Jeddah Corniche offers breathtaking views of the Red Sea and many recreational facilities for visitors to enjoy. In line with the slogan "Jeddah is different", the geography of the region is also a springboard from the endless desert of Saudi Arabia.
